We now offer a telemedicine and/or office visit with your provider!
We ask that you do not contact the practice to see if you may receive the COVID-19 vaccination. Due to the current COVID-19 health crisis our practice’s phone lines need to remain open for those patients that need assistance with immediate medical care issues.
All the Family Practice Associates Physicians, Physician Assistants, and Nurse Practitioners recommend vaccination against COVID-19 unless you have had a history of anaphylactic shock to another vaccine.
Below are some tools/resources to help guide you with common questions surrounding the COVID-19 vaccine:
We understand your frustration with getting vaccinated; however, NY State is directing who receives the COVID-19 vaccination and the priority of those eligible. Private physician groups have been instructed to vaccinate patients 75 years and older at this time.
Family Practice Associates will be calling our patients age 75 and older to schedule appointments for the COVID-19 vaccine. Please note we do not currently have vaccine and we do not know the specifics on quantity or date we will receive vaccine.
When we receive any vaccine, we will contact our oldest patients first on down to our 75 year old patients to schedule appointments that will most likely occur on Fridays and Saturdays due to staffing and social distancing requirements to receive the vaccine. It will take many weeks to vaccinate this population so please be patient.
Any patients that are deemed eligible by the guidelines but not 75 and older must seek other means to be vaccinated at this time; we strongly believe that our oldest patients need to be vaccinated first. If the vaccine supply becomes available and we have the means to vaccinate more of our eligible patient population we will do our best.
We STRONGLY encourage patients under age 75 to schedule appointments elsewhere. We encourage you to check available appointments with other facilities as vaccine supply is replenished on a weekly basis and you may be able to get an appointment sooner. Again the demand far exceeds the current supply and everyone must be patient.
The FPA Physicians, Providers, and Staff
Please Note: Starting Monday, June 1st, we will be back to being open 7am to 8pm, Monday thru Friday. Thank you all for your patience and understanding during these times.
Our top priority is for our patients to know we are here for you in these trying times. Please call the office to schedule an appointment. For the safety of everyone, we screen all staff, patients, and visitors prior to them entering the office. Everyone has their temperature taken and no one with any respiratory symptoms is allowed into the office without being screened. All patients and staff must wear a mask prior to entering the office.
We ask that if you have an upcoming appointment and you are not feeling well and are experiencing a cough, fever, or shortness of breath, that you contact the office to speak with a nurse to determine if we need to reschedule your appointment.
To limit the number of people in the office, we ask that all visitors wait in the car; the exceptions would be a minor child, disabled and/or elderly patient who may have one person accompany them. These visitors will be screened as well.
Please note that although we believe that we are doing our due diligence about keeping the office environment safe and minimizing risk, we understand many people may still be concerned about coming into the office. All the providers in the office are offering video and phone visits as a way to care for those who may be uncomfortable coming into the office. Please call the office to schedule a Telehealth visit with your provider and the staff will accommodate your needs as we can with your insurance coverage. In these emergency times, many insurance companies are covering Telehealth visits and waiving patient out-of-pocket costs, please check with your insurance for your specific coverage.
Did you also know we have clinical social worker from Psychological Healthcare that works directly with our patients for their mental health needs in our office? Due to COVID-19, the provider staff of Psychological Healthcare is currently working remotely through Telehealth visits. If you are experiencing increased anxiety, stress, etc. during this time, please contact our office to get a referral to speak with someone.
